Founded in Vienna in 2009, Globalistan has since produced and distributed two award winning documentary features. We are currently based in New Delhi.
Fahad was born in Kanpur, India and grew up in Dammam, KSA. He studied history at the Universities of Delhi and Vienna, and briefly worked in the field of development and human rights with the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Torture and the World Bank, before his first foray in film.
Fahad has directed and produced F C Chechnya (2010) and Powerless/Katiyabaaz (2013).
Deepti has studied history at the Universities of Delhi, Leipzig and Vienna and public policy at Columbia University in New York. She has worked in the public policy and human rights field in Delhi, Leipzig, Vienna, New York and Yangon.
Deepti co-founded Globalistan Films in 2010 and has produced F C Chechnya (2010) and directed and produced Powerless/Katiyabaaz (2013). She was an associate producer on Leila (2019), a limited series for Netflix Originals, India.
She also works as a consultant with the World Bank on the National Rural Livelihoods Mission, in partnership with the Ministry of Rural Development.
